Supporting Innovative Nursing Training
With the increased urgent need for more front line direct-care nurses, Ovintiv was pleased to partner with UNBC’s Northern Baccalaureate Nursing Program (NBNP) in Fort St. John, BC.
Thanks in part to Ovintiv’s $25,000 sponsorship, the first cohort of 13 students started their nursing studies at NBNP this fall. Combined with capital funding, our gift was essential to launching the NBNP which was used to purchase four Nursing Anne simulation mannequins. These mannequins allow students to experience scenario-based training for advanced nursing skills.
The Program will ensure more patients in the region can access care that will improve their quality of life, while students can pursue health-care education and training closer to home
