Showing our Pride
Throughout 2024, LINK supported Ovintiv’s inclusive culture by actively identifying ways to engage staff in fostering awareness and understanding of the LGBTQIA2S+ community. For the second year in a row, LINK members participated in an Ovintiv-hosted event to celebrate art and showcase LGBTQ2S+ artists. Additionally, LINK sponsored participation in Pride Parades in Denver, Calgary and The Woodlands.

Racing and Teambuilding
In late summer and early fall 2024, our Calgary and The Woodlands offices participated in local Dragonboat Festivals. All teams put in a lot of hard work and dedication and in Calgary, two crews comprising more than 40 paddlers walked away with gold and silver medals while showing their community spirit. Fun was had by all, and it was a great opportunity to encourage teambuilding.

Empowering Employees with Energy Knowledge
In fall 2024, LINK hosted an engaging, post-election discussion with our Government Relations team and one of Ovintiv’s Executive Leaders on energy-related issues and the challenges and opportunities facing our industry, including the changing political environment. The discussion was a great opportunity to help our staff feel equipped and empowered to speak confidently and respectfully with family and friends about our work.

Discussing Working-Family Dynamics
In summer 2024, LINK piloted a unique conversation with two employees and their children on working-family dynamics. The moderated discussion featured practical tips on managing family and work commitments along with their child’s perspectives on growing up with working parents and how that has influenced their values and resiliency.

Celebrating Diverse Cultures
In fall 2024, LINK celebrated diversity through food, friendship and fun across cultures. Social events brought staff together to share their heritage through food and artifacts from their home countries including Colombia, Egypt, Mexico, Philippines, Sweden, Turkey, Ukraine, U.S. and more.
Ovintiv Young Leaders
The Ovintiv Young Leaders organization (OYL) was formed to provide opportunities for emerging leaders in our organization to foster growth and development, provide a forum for knowledge sharing and teamwork and promote community engagement across our corporate office locations.

Lunch and Learns
OYL hosts lunch and learns throughout the year on a variety of topics, ranging from technical presentations to personal development training, and serves as a support system for our New Graduates. They also sponsor regular networking events, including an annual opportunity to meet with the CEO.

Volunteering and Teambuilding
OYL coordinates multiple events throughout the year to give back to the communities where we work and encourage teambuilding through community participation. In 2024, volunteer events supported Inspiration Ranch, Camp Hope and Special Olympics Texas, while we showed our team spirit with participation in the Colfax Marathon Relay and the Calgary Corporate Challenge.

Spirit of Giving
Benefiting local charities, OYL and our community investment team lined up holiday events across our corporate offices. All hands were on deck to pack holiday essentials for families in need for the Calgary Immigrant Women’s Association, Interfaith of The Woodlands, and Urban Peak Denver in support of homeless youth.
